Claude skills for SEO in 2026: seven options, and which one fits your situation
By Adrien Pennetier, PENRA · updated
There is no best Claude skill for SEO: it depends on the data you have and where you use Claude. For a free, broad audit in Claude Code, look at Claude SEO. If you already pay for SE Ranking, its skills use that data. We make one of the seven options, so this page is not an independent review.
Licences, prices, versions and dates checked on each vendor's own page or GitHub repository on 15 October 2026. We make SEO Skills by PENRA, one of the options below: it is listed last, with its limits.
Do you need an SEO skill pack at all?
Not always. Claude can already audit a page or draft a brief from a plain request, and Anthropic publishes a free marketing plugin whose /seo-audit command covers keyword research, on-page checks, content gaps and technical checks. Its readme says it is designed primarily for Cowork and also works in Claude Code. The plugin is Apache 2.0.
Without a connected SEO tool, that /seo-audit skill falls back to web search. When a tool is connected (its connector list names Ahrefs and Similarweb), it pulls keyword data and search volume from it. The seo-audit skill itself last changed on 13 March 2026.
The other free baseline is your own skill: a folder with a SKILL.md file that writes down how you already do a job. A pack is worth installing when it brings what you do not have: scripts that check things, a tested method, or a connection to data.

- Claude Code documentation: skills: how to write your own skill
Which Claude SEO skill fits which situation?
Start from your constraint, not from a ranking. The table below maps common situations to the options worth opening first, and to the one thing to check before you commit. Every fact in it comes from the vendor's own page or repository, as of 15 October 2026.
| Your situation | Look at | Check before you commit |
|---|---|---|
| You want to try SEO work in Claude before installing a third-party pack | None of these yet: Anthropic's marketing plugin, or a skill you write yourself | Without a connected SEO tool it works from web search |
| You want a free, broad technical audit in Claude Code | Claude SEO | It needs the Claude Code CLI and Python 3.10+; its readme says five agents run on Opus since v2.3.1, so a full audit costs more than before |
| Your main question is visibility in AI answers | GEO-SEO Claude; Claude SEO also has a /seo geo command | Both list the Claude Code CLI as a requirement |
| You already pay for SE Ranking | SE Ranking SEO Skills | The skills need SE Ranking API access, which comes with its Core ($129/mo) and Growth ($279/mo) plans |
| You need SEO next to copywriting, CRO or ads | Marketing Skills, or Aaron Marketing Skills | SEO is a slice of each: 6 of 50 skills, and 16 of 120 |
| You work in Claude.ai or Cowork, not in a terminal | Anthropic's plugin, SE Ranking SEO Skills, SEO Skills by PENRA | Claude SEO and GEO-SEO Claude list the Claude Code CLI as a requirement |
| You want to read every file before you install anything | Any of the five open-source packs | ClaudeFast Growth Kit and SEO Skills by PENRA are paid, and we found no public repository for either |
| You need search volumes or backlink counts | None on its own: you need a data source | The packs here that show volumes read them from a connected tool or API |
How do they compare on licence, price, paid data and updates?
Five of the seven packs are free and open source (MIT or Apache 2.0). One of the free ones, SE Ranking's, needs a paid SE Ranking plan to get data. Two packs are paid: ClaudeFast Growth Kit and SEO Skills by PENRA. Prices are in each vendor's own currency, as shown on its site on 15 October 2026.
| Option | Licence and price | Paid data needed? | Last change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anthropic marketing plugin (baseline) | Apache 2.0, free | No; richer with a connected tool such as Ahrefs | Plugin folder 21 Sep 2026; seo-audit skill 13 Mar 2026 |
| Aaron Marketing Skills | Apache 2.0, free | No: its skills run on data you provide | Release v20.1.0, 2 Sep 2026 |
| Claude SEO | MIT, free | No; optional Google APIs (your own credentials) and optional paid extensions | Release v2.4.2, 4 Oct 2026 |
| ClaudeFast Growth Kit | Paid. Its home page shows the Complete Kit (Code + Growth) at $149, down from $198, as a limited-time offer | Its Search Console workflow reads live data from your account | Not checked: no public changelog read |
| GEO-SEO Claude | MIT, free | No paid service in its listed requirements | Skills folder 27 Sep 2026; repository 5 Oct 2026 |
| Marketing Skills | MIT, free | No; its SEO audit lists Ahrefs or Semrush only if available | Release v2.11.37, 15 Oct 2026 |
| SE Ranking SEO Skills | MIT, free skills | Yes: SE Ranking API access (Core $129/mo, Growth $279/mo, or pay-as-you-go from a $50 deposit) | Release v2.10.4, 17 Jun 2026; last commit 24 Jun 2026 |
| SEO Skills by PENRA (ours) | Paid, personal licence: €25 tax included until 31 Oct 2026, then €99 | No: your pages, public search results, your Search Console exports | Version 1.4.2, 13 Oct 2026 |
How this list was built: packs or plugins whose own description names SEO, usable in Claude, with a public page we could read on 15 October 2026, and named in the roundups and AI answers we read that day. Left out: skill catalogues (they list skills, they are not packs), single-purpose skills (one Search Console analyser, one schema skill), and a free pack shared in a LinkedIn post we could not open. Order: alphabetical, our own pack last.
What does each pack do, and what is the catch?
In short: two broad marketing libraries with an SEO part, two audit-first packs for Claude Code, one pack built on a paid data platform, and one paid kit. Each one has a catch, taken from its own readme or page.
Aaron Marketing Skills (aaron-he-zhu) has 120 skills across seven marketing disciplines, 16 of them for SEO and GEO, and installs in Claude Code and, its readme says, more than 70 other agents. Its readme is translated into nine languages besides English, French included. The catch: the old seo-geo-claude-skills repository, still named in many lists, is now a signpost that points here.
Claude SEO (AgriciDaniel) describes 26 sub-skills and 19 sub-agents: technical SEO, E-E-A-T, schema, GEO, local, e-commerce and international SEO, with PDF reports. It works with zero API keys; your own Google credentials add Search Console, PageSpeed and GA4 data, and an Ads developer token adds Keyword Planner volumes. The catch: it needs the Claude Code CLI and Python 3.10+, and its readme offers early access to new features through a members-only mirror.
ClaudeFast Growth Kit is a paid marketing kit for Claude Code. ClaudeFast's own SEO page (7 October 2026) describes an SEO part of 13 files organised as nine workflows, from audit to Search Console reports and GEO. The catch: that page compares the kit with free packs and recommends the kit, and the Growth Kit's own price was not in the page text we could read.
GEO-SEO Claude (zubair-trabzada) is GEO first: citability scoring, AI crawler access, llms.txt, brand mentions and schema, plus technical and content checks and PDF reports, in 13 sub-skills. The catch: it requires the Claude Code CLI and Python 3.10+, and part of it is for agencies selling GEO work (a prospect pipeline, proposals).
Marketing Skills (Corey Haines) is a library of 50 marketing skills that runs in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other agents that follow the Agent Skills format. Six are about SEO: seo-audit, ai-seo, programmatic-seo, site-architecture, competitors and schema. The catch: every skill first reads a shared product-marketing context, and the project is funded by disclosed partners.
SE Ranking SEO Skills turns SE Ranking's API data into deliverables: briefs, AI-search share of voice, backlink gaps, keyword clusters, audits. It installs in Cowork through Claude Desktop, in Claude Code or in Cursor. The catch: the skills are free, but its readme says API access is required, and SE Ranking's page puts that access in its paid plans.
- SE Ranking: cost of API access: plans, free trial and pay-as-you-go, as the vendor states them
- ClaudeFast: Claude Code SEO skills: the vendor's own comparison, which favours its kit
What about SEO Skills by PENRA, the pack we make?
We make this one, so read its limits first. It is paid (€25 tax included until 31 October 2026, then €99), closed source: you cannot read the files before buying, and the licence forbids sharing or modifying them. It is new: version 1.4.2 dates from 13 October 2026, and we know of no independent review yet. No refund once the pack is delivered.
It has 14 skills: site audit, indexing, Search Console analysis, keyword winnability, briefs, comparison pages, fact-checking, content freshness, internal links, structured data, multilingual sites, off-site authority, AI-answer visibility and a 30/60/90-day plan. It needs no paid SEO tool: it works from your pages, public search results and Search Console exports you download, not from a connection to your account.
It runs in Claude Code, Claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Cowork, with code execution on and Python 3.9+ for the scripts. Its crawler runs no JavaScript, and it has no search volumes or backlink counts. It answers in the language you write in; file names and CSV columns stay in English.
- Site X-Ray: the audit skill, and what it cannot see
- Click Radar: reads your Search Console exports
- Odds Maker: whether a keyword is worth an article, without volume data
What can no Claude skill do for SEO?
No skill can promise rankings. Google's own page on hiring an SEO says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google, and a skill is a written method plus scripts, not access to Google's systems.
No skill knows search volume or backlinks without a data source. Volumes come from a tool such as Google's Keyword Planner or a paid SEO platform; your real clicks, impressions and average position come from your own Search Console. A pack that shows volumes is reading them from somewhere: check where, and what that costs.
No skill can tell you whether a page is indexed without asking Search Console, and none can make an AI assistant cite you. What a good skill removes is the guesswork: it says what it checked, on what, and when.
- Discovered, currently not indexed: what you can and cannot diagnose from outside Search Console
How do you choose, and check a pack before installing it?
Choose by the data you have and where you run Claude, then read the files before installing. A pack you cannot read, ours included, is one you trust on its maker's word; that is worth knowing before you pay.
- Write down the data you already have: Search Console, an SEO tool subscription, or nothing. It rules out half the list.
- Check where you use Claude. Some packs list the Claude Code CLI as a requirement; others install in Cowork or Claude.ai.
- Open the repository's commit history, not a roundup: counts and versions move every few weeks.
- Read the SKILL.md and the scripts before installing. Anthropic's documentation warns that a skill can grant itself broad tool access, so review its allowed-tools field.
- Try it on one page you know well, and compare its findings with what you already know is wrong.
- Are Claude skills safe to install?: what to read before installing any skill
- How to install a skill: Claude Code, Claude.ai, Desktop and Cowork
- Fair Fight: the method used for this page: a source and a date for every fact
Published lists disagree with the repositories. ClaudeFast's SEO page (7 October 2026) gives Claude SEO 4.1k GitHub stars and GEO-SEO Claude 4.8k; GitHub showed 18,995 and 11,056 on 15 October 2026. Spilno Agency's roundup (updated 26 September 2026) describes Claude SEO as 25 sub-skills and 18 agents; its repository now says 26 and 19. Read the source, with its date.
How this page was checked: each vendor's readme, licence and release list on GitHub, and each vendor's own price page, read on 15 October 2026. Nothing was installed or tested for this page. If a fact here is wrong, or you maintain one of these packs and want a correction, write to penra.contact@gmail.com: we correct it and date the change.
Questions people ask
Do Claude SEO skills work in Claude.ai, or only in Claude Code?
It depends on the pack. Claude SEO and GEO-SEO Claude list the Claude Code CLI as a requirement; SE Ranking's skills and Anthropic's marketing plugin install in Cowork; SEO Skills by PENRA lists Claude Code, Claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Cowork.
Do these skills work in French or other languages?
None of the readmes we read says which language the output uses. Aaron Marketing Skills has a readme in ten languages, SE Ranking has a French product page, and SEO Skills by PENRA states that it answers in the language you write in.
What is the difference between a skill and an MCP server?
A skill is a written method that Claude loads when your request matches it. An MCP server is a connection that gives Claude data or actions, such as SE Ranking's API. Some packs, like SE Ranking's, are built to sit on top of one.
Can I install two SEO packs at once?
Yes, but Claude chooses a skill from its description, so two skills that describe the same job compete. In Claude Code, call the one you want by name with a slash to be sure which runs.
